The Oasis at Ayios Philon is set high on rocks above the ancient Roman harbour. It’s location makes a perfect base for exploring the rich history of Karpasia. Our simple bedrooms stand above the beautiful cove with steps leading down to the sandy beach.The lapping waves gently lull you to sleep. Lofty palm trees sway in the balmy breeze, sheltering our inviting restaurant overlooking the sea, serving Turkish cuisine. Watch the setting sun over the richly coloured sea, with a ‘sundowner’, in this lonely paradise. Snorkel in crystal clear waters. Natural springs fall into the sea giving the swimmer a tantalising experience of warm sea and cool springs mingling. The area us popular with the local fishermen. The nearby Golden Beach is a nesting site for Turtles, and is just 10 minutes walk. Many beautiful walks await you. The ‘Oasis’ is surrounded by unspoilt countryside, where herbs grow in abundance. Springtime flowers, including rare wild orchids give a riot of colour. Donkeys wander in the surrounding hills, and the birdlife is particularly rich in April and May with Bee-eaters, Hoopoes, Rollers and Golden Orioles to name a few.
